Antidumping Duties on Chinese Pencils
The Ministry of Economy published in the Official Journal of the Federation (DOF) of 03 June 2020, the termination of the administrative procedure for the examination of the validity of the countervailing quota imposed on imports of pencils originating in the People’s Republic of China.
It should be noted that the above-mentioned resolution is preceded by the publication of 26 May 2014, in the DOF and disclosing the final resolution of the anti-dumping investigation into imports of pencils originating in the People’s Republic of China, which established a definitive countervailing quota of USD 0,0299 for each piece of pencils.
The product under examination is commercially known as a “pencil” of either graphite or colour, used to write, trace, draw or illuminate and enters the Mexican market according to the following tariff description:

For the goods under examination and entering under tariff heading 9609.10.01, namely pencils, it was decided to terminate the examination procedure for the validity of the countervailing quota imposed on imports originating in the PRC.
Similarly, it was decided to extend the validity of the definitive compensatory quota of $0,0299 per piece for a further five years, starting on 27 May 2019.
