Compensatory Quotas for Steel Pipes
The Ministry of Economic Affairs in the Official Journal of the Federation, published the resolution instituting the administrative procedure for the examination of the validity of the compensatory quotas imposed on imports of straight-stitched carbon steel pipes originating in the United States of America, regardless of the country of origin.
The publication states that Tubacero, S. de R.L. de C.V., expressed its interest in the initiation of the examination of the validity of the definitive countervailing quotas imposed on imports of carbon steel pipes with straight longitudinal seam originating in the United States.
The product under examination is the carbon steel pipe with straight longitudinal seam, with outer diameters greater than 16 and up to 48 inches (406.4 and up to 1,219.2 millimeters) and wall thicknesses in a range ranging from 0.188 to 1,000 inches (4.77 to 25.4 millimeters) and enters the domestic market through the tariff fractions 7305.11.01 and 7305.12.01 of the Law on General Import and Export Taxes.
The use of the product commented is the pipeline of gases and fluids, mainly oil, gas and water, being used mainly in oil works, sanitary, gas transmission, in petrochemical and hydraulic plants and the like, but it can also be used for structural purposes.
The review period shall run from 1 January to 31 December 2019 and the review period shall run from 1 January 2015 to 31 December 2019.
The commented resolution provides the opportunity for those natural or legal persons with a legal interest in the outcome of this examination procedure, within 28 working days from the day following the publication of that decision in the Official Journal.
