Soybean epoxide oil countervailing duty.
The Ministry of the Economy issued a resolution in the Official Journal of the Federation declaring the initiation of an administrative procedure for the examination of the validity of the countervailing duty imposed on imports of soybean epoxide oil, originating in the United States of America irrespective of the country of origin.
The publication states that the company Industrial and Chemical Specialities, S.A. de C.V., expressed its interest in initiating the examination of the validity of the definitive countervailing duty imposed on imports of soybean epoxide oil originating in the United States.
The product under examination is soybean epoxide oil which is a mixed epoxy triglyceride belonging to the family of epoxy esters. The basic raw material for the production of soybean epoxide oil is refined, deodorized and bleached soybean oil.
This product enters the national market through tariff item 1518.00.02 of the Tariff of the Law on General Import and Export Taxes.
The product described above is used as a plasticizer or co-stabiliser in formulations or compounds of polyvinyl chloride (PVC) and its copolymers, as it prevents PVC from degrading during the different transformation processes. It is also used as a pigment dispersion medium and as an acid masking agent in soybean ink compounds. Compatible with chlorinated rubber, nitrocellulose, neoprene and emulsions of PVC and polyvinyl acetate (PVA).
The review period shall run from 1 July 2019 to 30 June 2020 and the review period shall run from 1 July 2015 to 30 June 2020.
The decision on the imposition of the above-mentioned countervailing duty provides an opportunity for those natural or legal persons with a legal interest in the outcome of this examination procedure, they declare it within 28 working days from the day following the publication of that decision in the Official Journal.
