Definitive Countervailing Duties for Stainless Steel Sinks
The Ministry of Economic Affairs in the Official Journal of the Federation, announced the decision to initiate the administrative procedure for the examination of the validity of the countervailing quotas imposed on imports of stainless steel sinks originating in the People’s Republic of China, regardless of the country of origin.
The publication mentions that the companies Cocinas Modulares, S.A. de C.V., E.B. Técnica Mexicana, S.A. de C.V. and Teka Mexicana, S.A. de C.V., expressed interest in the initiation of the examination of the validity of the definitive countervailing quotas imposed on imports of stainless steel sinks originating in China, statements which were accepted by the Ministry of Economic Affairs.
The object of examination are the STAINLESS STEEL SINKS that can also be identified as targes, dishwashers, sinks, sinks or sinks, all of them made of stainless steel.
The product under examination is made of corrosion-resistant (stainless) steel of different thicknesses but is generally characterised by one or more tubs or basins in rectangular, square, oval or circular shape. It may or may not have a drainage system and holes for the installation of drainage devices and water taps with standard dimensions.
The use of the product mentioned is usually for domestic or residential use, although it is also used in restaurants and enters the national market through the tariff fraction 7324.10.01.
The review period shall run from 1 January to 31 December 2019 and the review period shall run from 1 January 2015 to 31 December 2019.
The commented resolution provides the opportunity for those natural or legal persons with a legal interest in the outcome of this examination procedure, within 28 working days from the day following the publication of that decision in the Official Journal.
