EXTENSION OF SUSPENSION OF WORK OF THE HIGH COURT OF JUSTICE OF THE CDMX
By Agreement V-19/2020, issued in session on 27 April 2020, on the need to continue the extraordinary actions to address the health emergency caused by the COVID 19 virus, the Judicial Council of Mexico City, decreed to extend the effects of the Contingency Plan for the Judiciary of Mexico City, He decided to extend the suspension of work and the suspension of procedural time in the Mexican City Judiciary by resuming his activities on June 1, 2000.
Similarly, with regard to family matters, the Council of the Judiciary of Mexico City has determined that the Family Courts of Written Procedure shall set up guards in accordance with the duty assigned by the plenary of the Council, which shall operate with the personnel strictly necessary for this purpose, in respect of which they shall be responsible only for receiving and processing letters of complaint concerning the family, especially for violence against women, children and adolescents, food and any other urgent needs.
Lastly, since the Council of the Judiciary of Mexico City has not infringed the rights of individuals, it has also ruled that, in criminal matters, in the context of the Constitutional Deadlines, work is not subject to such an extension, courts in criminal matters (Control, Enforcement and Trial Court), including Justice for Adolescents, as well as the Unit for the Supervision of Precautionary Measures and Conditional Suspension of Proceedings, and the Judicial Management Units and Specialized Judicial Management Units of the Superior Court of Justice of Mexico City, so that the proper administration of justice is not interrupted, will adopt guards implementing shift roles.
