Impact of “Covid – 19” on the Provision of Notarial Services
Due to the declaration of National Sanitary Emergency, on April 1, 2020 in the Official Gazette of Mexico City, notarial services were declared an essential activity, by virtue of the fact that it is in the public interest and is indispensable for carrying out economic, financial and social assistance activities.
The College of Notaries of Mexico City, in coordination with local authorities, agreed that, during the Emergency by the COVID-19, notary services will be provided under strict preventive measures to prevent the spread of the COVID-19, through remote media such as telephone, videoconference, Whatsapp, Twitter, Facebook, among others.
Public Notary Offices that temporarily ceased to provide services are those that have holders, collaborators and workers over 60 years of age or in vulnerable situation by the COVID-19, who must remain in their homes.
