Corrugated rod. Review of the validity of the countervailing duty.
The Ministry of Economy issued in the Official Journal of the Federation, the decision declaring the initiation of administrative proceedings to examine the countervailing duty imposed on imports of rebars originating in the Federative Republic of Brazil, irrespective of the country of origin.
The publication states that the companies Ternium México, S.A. de C.V., ArcelorMittal México, S.A. de C.V., TA 2000, S.A. de C.V., and Grupo Simec, S.A.B. de C.V., expressed interest in initiating the examination of the validity of the definitive countervailing duty imposed on imports of rebars originating in Brazil.
The product under examination is the rebars, which has edges or protrusions called corrugations that inhibit the relative and longitudinal movement in the concrete. It is produced in diameters of 5/32 to 1 inch. and is sold in rolls or in longitudinal lengths of 6 to 12 meters. In the international market it is known as concrete reinforcing bar and is specially manufactured for use as reinforcement for concrete.
This product enters the national market through tariff item 7214.20.01 of the Tariff of the Law on General Import and Export Taxes.
The review period shall run from 1 July 2019 to 30 June 2020 and the review period shall run from 1 July 2015 to 30 June 2020.
The above-mentioned resolution provides an opportunity for those natural or legal persons with a legal interest in the outcome of this examination procedure, they declare it within 28 working days from the day following the publication of that decision in the Official Journal.
