Soybean epoxided oil countervailing duty.
The Ministry of Economy issued in the Official Journal of the Federation, the order declaring the initiation of administrative proceedings to examine the validity of the countervailing duty imposed on imports of soybean epoxided oil originating in the Argentine Republic, irrespective of the country of origin.
The publication states that the company Especialidades Industriales y Químicas, S.A. de C.V., expressed its interest in initiating the examination of the validity of the definitive countervailing duty imposed on imports of soybean epoxided oil originating in Argentina.
The product under examination is soybean epoxidized oil, also known as ESO (epoxidized soybean oil) or ESBO (epoxidized soybean oil) being a mixed epoxy triglyceride used as a plasticizer or co-stabilizer (secondary thermal stabiliser) in formulations or compounds of PVC and its copolymers, since it prevents PVC from degrading during the different transformation processes due to its properties as plasticiser and thermal stabilizer. It is also used as a pigment dispersion medium and as an acidity reducing agent in inks, varnishes and coatings.
This product enters the national market through the tariff fractions 1518.00.02 and 3812.20.01 of the Tariff of the Law of the General Import and Export Taxes.
The review period shall run from 1 January to 3 December 2020 and the review period shall run from 1 January 2016 to 31 December 2020.
The above-mentioned resolution provides an opportunity for those natural or legal persons with a legal interest in the outcome of this examination procedure, they declare it within 28 working days from the day following the publication of that decision in the Official Journal.
